Where Does The Time Go?

I love this paper. It is the new Basic Grey 'Urban Prairie" Design. I also picked up the rub-ons that goes with. The first layout is for Serindipity Scrapbooks October Daily Challenge. I am having a terrible time trying to keep up with these. I think I've only done 3 now this month. Out of 15 or so. Maybe next month will be better. I'll be more organized. Yea Right. At any rate I made a lot of flowers for these using my new Big Shot. I am so excited about having that. I will be doing a lot of cutting and dry embossing now. I took these pictures of the girls a week or so ago. The afternoons are still very warm but it is starting to get chilly in the morning. I had to be at Mona's by 7:a.m. and I really needed the heater. The butterflies were made by using the rub-ons on cardstock and then cutting them out and attaching them with dimensionals. I really like the sketches I used for these too. This first one is a sketch byBeggahuna44 over at scrapbook.com. She also has her own blogspot but I don't have that right now. Check out her sketches if you like sketches. They are great. The second layout is from Julie Bonnar at 52Sketches/52 Weeks. I love her sketches. I try to do one every week. She posts a new sketch every Sun. and you have until the following Sun. to finish it. And there is a chance for a prize.

Here are two cards I've made in the last few days. I have a pile of things that I need to get finished soon. I'll post those as soon as I get them done.

These are the prizes I won this last month. The first one is for the World Card Making Day at Queen Kat Stamps and Odd Bird Planet. I won Third Place Overall And got these 4 stamp sets. The next photo is my prise from Serindipity for the scrap-a-pa-looza last month. I love the letters and everything else too. I love winning prizes and I get more work done now than ever before.

I hope everyone has a really good week and I will try to post more often. Have Fun! Melissa

World Card Making Day

Last weekend on Sat. it was World Card Making Day so I joined the forum at Odd Bird Planet for some fun. Queen Kat Designs was also involved with the challenges. I really enjoyed all the challenges and I find that joining in with a group like this is so much fun. It's like you make new friends in a very short time because your all working toward the same goal. To meet the challenge, to share your work and lets face it, hopefully win some prizes. It is so exciting. I did win one of the challenges'. I got an e-mail this morning, i won for the gold and silver cards. One of my favorite challenge results was the first one here. It was to take a technique that is new to you and make a card. When I went to the gals blogspot who was sponsoring this challenge I followed a link or two and came to a site called PATSTAMPS and this technique. I can't wait to share this for my Technique Tues class. The background is done by embossing a piece of wax paper and then ironing it between two pieces of glossy paper and then using a brayer to apply desired colors over the top. It took a few trys but I finally got it worked out and I love the results. Come on over next Sat. for Christmas Card Making and I'll show you how to make this card. That would be Sat. the 11th, 11a.m. - 9p.m. and Sun. the 12th. 9 a.m.-5 p.m..
The second card here was my next favotite and was sponsored by Emi from Japan, the challenge was to make a card that was any shape other than the traditional square or rectangle. Mine has two cards in one. The small package on the front lower part of the card is a card all on its own. It is attached.
The third project here was to do a project using Fall colors. Well I made the Journal Cover and used things that I bought in the dollar section at Target. Now I need to finish the inside.
I like the way everything turned out and I made some new friends form Australia and Japan the East Coast and the West. It was a very productive day.

I did this first thing in the morning. I was up at 4:30 a.m. ( I don't know why) and when I got set up with coffee and checked e-mails and went to the forum to check things out this challenge was already up. It is for a spring like card because the gal that was hosting this challenge is from Australia.

Have a really good week.

Pumpkin Fun

I did this LO yesterday of the girls in their Snow White Dresses. The picture of KayLynn I took a week or so ago while the picture of Claudette was taken back in 2005. I wish she still had that dress or one that fit her so I could get a shot of the two of them together. This is cute too. The paper I used in this layout is SU Kiwi Kiss for the background and the patterened paper is from We Are Memory Keepers, the White Out collection. I made the paper flowers , did some machine stitching, added buttons, rinestones brads and glitter for the finishing touches. I love that it is so bright.
The paper doll is an idea I have had for awhile. I have to finish the one of KayLynn. These are just fun to do. I designed the outfit and used patterned paper to make it.

Is this fun or what? If I'm lucky this will last for the rest of the month.

Have A really great weekend.
